Voter Registration Application

1. Fill in the form on a laptop, tablet, or mobile device.
2. Your county elections office will review the application.
3. When your registration is complete, you will receive your voter registration card in the mail.

Before you begin, be sure to have your Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card handy. If you don’t have one, you can upload a signature or print and sign the form.
 

Once you submit your online application, it will go to the appropriate county voter registration office for processing.
 

If your voter registration card does not come in the mail within 14 days, contact your county voter registration office.

By Mail

If you prefer to use a paper form, you can download the Pennsylvania Voter Registration Application. Print it, then fill it in, sign it and send it to your county voter registration office. Paper voter registration forms must be received in county voter registration offices by close of business on the voter registration deadline.

In Person

Fill out a voter registration application and deliver it to the Westmoreland Voter Registration Office (address listed below). If you are not a resident of Westmoreland county, you will need to visit your home county's voter registration office.

At PennDOT or some other government agencies

You can register to vote at any Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) photo or driver’s license center when you obtain or update your driver's license.

You can also register to vote at many state government offices, including:

  • State offices that provide public assistance and services to persons with disabilities
  • Armed Forces Recruitment Centers
  • County Clerk of Orphans' Court offices, including each Marriage License Bureau
  • Area Agencies on Aging
  • Centers for Independent Living
  • County Mental Health and Intellectual Disability offices
  • Student disability services offices of the State System of Higher Education
  • Offices of Special Education
  • DA Complementary Paratransit offices
  • Any agency using the Compass application
To register to vote in Pennsylvania, you must:
  • Be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next primary, special, municipal, or general election.
  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania and the election district in which you want to register and vote for at least 30 days before the next primary, special, municipal, or general election. 
  • Be at least 18 years of age on or before the day of the next primary, special, municipal, or general election.
Important Dates

October 23, 2023 is the last day to register before the November 7, 2023 election.

Oct. 31 - Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot

Nov. 7 - Municipal Election

Nov. 7 - Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive mail-in and absentee ballots (must be in by 8pm)

Nov. 14 - Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots

Re-Registering

If you are registered to vote, you do not have to register again in Pennsylvania unless you change your address, name, or political party.
