Jacob Byers was known as a prominent farmer from Cook Township, near Rector. He was also known as the tallest man in the Ligonier Valley at this time. Jacob broke ground for this house in May of 1907, and it was completed by December. The building material was described as “concrete stone.” Jacob sold his farm and moved into the house in February 1908.
