John D. Seger Home

221 West Main Street

From a swimming pool in the basement to the green terra-cotta roof, coal and timber baron John Seger spared no expense in building his mansion. The interior featured beautiful woodwork and stunning stained glass. After his death, it was sold to the Sisters of Mercy as a hospital. It became McGinnis Hospital and eventually Excela Surgi Center before becoming a boutique hotel.
