#37 William Ashcom Home/Shop (230 E Main)

William Ashcom Home and Shop

230 East Main Street

William Ashcom was a cobbler born circa 1821. Earliest confirmation of his residency here is through the 1850 Census where he is listed as 29 years old, married with three children, and a shoemaker by trade. The building doubled as a home and cobbler shop. The Ashcom heirs retained ownership until 1917 when it was sold to C. M. McClune.
