This was the residence of William Lang, an insurance agent in the late 1800s, who at one time had a grocery store on the northwest portion of the Diamond. Prior to his ownership of this property, this was the location of Houston Cochran’s pottery works. Later, upon excavation of the property next door for an addition, numerous pottery pieces were uncovered.
