This building was erected in 1926 by Virgil Gaskin, who operated his funeral business in the front house. Gaskin was a liveryman as well as an undertaker. This was originally a livery stable and also housed his hearse, ambulance, and personal vehicles. The second floor was used to store supplies Virgil Gaskin was also the appointed Deputy Coroner for this region.
