Former Site of Ligonier House

120 West Main Street

Built in the early 1800s by Thomas Seaton, this inn’s first landlord was Henry Ankney. It became a successful stagecoach stop on the Greensburg/Stoystown Turnpike with Noah Mendell as its proprietor. It saw many owners and landlords over the years. Torn down due to disrepair, the Mellon family built the current Library in 1968. The original stone mile marker can be found in the PA Room.
