#2 W. S. Martin Home (114 S Market)

Winfield Scott Martin Home

114 South Market Street

W. S. Martin was a prominent butcher, whose meat market was located on the Diamond. Completed in the late fall of 1901, this home was considered to be a “substantial and modern residence” in the turn of the century. One can still find the concrete slab out front with an iron O Ring – used as a hitching post for visitors’ horses.
