Meet Libby & OverDrive

Are you facing the very real possibility of rereading every book in your home library? Before you do that, let us introduce you to our eBook, eAudio, and Streaming Video collection on the eBooks and Westmoreland site.

All of the Westmoreland Library Network libraries are still purchasing and adding materials (as best they can) to their physical collection for an eventual reopening, but meanwhile they are also adding a lot of new electronic content! Visit the link above and start borrowing today!

How do I get started? You’ll need two things:

  1. A Westmoreland Library Network library card*
  2. Some type of device – a tablet, eReader, smartphone, or computer

For directions on using Libby and/or OverDrive and on how to download eContent to your electronic reader (such as a Kindle Paperwhite or Barnes & Noble NOOK), click here.

For directions on how to Stream Videos, click here.

*Need a library card? Not a problem, you can Register Online. An online library card will give you access to all of our online services. Once the libraries reopen, you will be able to stop in and convert your online-only card to a real library card that will let you borrow physical items. Learn more about the library card process …

Find the Library at Your Place

Everyone is struggling right now to hold on to some sense of normal. While our doors are physically closed until further notice, we are open online! “Find the Library at Your Place” was the theme for National Library Week 2020, but we encourage you to keep finding and using us from your place.

Check out our databases! Newspapers.com and HertigeQuest are not only interesting to explore, but great Genealogy tool. Take a look at the Power Library databases too.

Follow us on Facebook! Some of your favorite groups and programs have gone virtual.

Check out Facebook Groups – attend a Check In with Mrs. Oates and Miss Bobbi on Wednesday mornings or join a discussion on mysteries and thrillers via our Death in the Stacks Facebook group. (In order to protect the privacy of our patrons, our Groups are all private. You will need to request permission to join.)

Library staff has also been super busy posting awesome links to help keep kids, and even adults, sane during this strange time.

Have a question? Feel free to contact us through Facebook Messenger.

Follow us on Instagram too! We are adding some fun content there as well!

Currently there is no date for when libraries will reopen, but rest assured that as soon as we are allowed to do so safely, we will.

We miss each and every one of our patrons and look forward to seeing you all again!

Please #staysafe and #stayhealthy – we will get through this together.
