Rollo Coaster Creations – A Fun Family Event

Jump on board and create your very own Rollo Coaster on Saturday, May 18 at the Ligonier Valley Library, beginning at 10:30am! In addition to some fun, hands-on time, children and their families will get to have a Meet and Greet with at least one Idlewild character, enjoy some light refreshments, and possibly win a family 4 pack for one free day at Idlewild.

This event is free, but limited to 20 children and their parents. Families must be registered to attend. Register Online or in person, or call the library at 724-238-6451.

While you are here for the event, stop downstairs and check out the 2019 Historic Photography Show, “Memories of Idlewild Park.” The exhibit will be on display in the Pennsylvania Room and Hallway starting with an opening reception on April 16 and continuing through July 9.

Historic Photography Show Program

Local historian and author, Jennifer Sopko will present “A History of Pennsylvania’s Oldest Amusement Park,” an overview of Idlewild’s history. She will be joined by Idlewild Director of Marketing, Jeff Croushore, who will present “What’s New at Idlewild and SoakZone 2019.”

This free, special Historic Photography Show program will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 pm. The program and show are open to the public. No registration required.

Sopko is the guest curate for the Pennsylvania Room’s 18th Annual Historical Photography Show, “Memories of Idlewild Park.” She will be sharing a fascinating collection of photographs and memorabilia discovered during her research for her 2018 book Idlewild: History and Memories of Pennsylvania’s Oldest Amusement Park.
