SUMMARY:Genealogy Forum 2025
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered who you might be related to\, or how your family came to the United States or\, more specifically\, to Pennsylvania or Ligonier? \nThe Ligonier Valley Library’s Genealogy Forum will help you develop the tricks and tools needed to trace your family lineage\, start your own family bible\, or just learn more about family history in general. Each forum meeting focuses on some aspect of family research and occasionally features a guest speaker. Programs are led by or organized by the library’s Pennsylvania Room Archivist. \nThis month is “Coming to America” presented by Donna Edwards-Jordan: \nAt the beginning of every American family is an immigrant ancestor. Finding these forebears is a research challenge that offers real rewards: the chance to explore our Old World roots and perhaps discover family connections in other countries. In this program\, we look at the history of immigration in America and give some tips for finding your immigrant ancestors. Take-home materials include Internet-based resources for immigration research and some links to European research sites. \n2025 Forum Meetings: \n\nJanuary 28 – Networking Night\nMarch 25 – Make an Ancestor Button and/or Mug!\nMay 27 – Who are you researching?\nSept 23 – Show & Tell with your Family Treasures\nOct 28th – “Coming to America” by Donna Edwards-Jordan – How to find your immigrant ancestors\n\nThe group meets on the 4th Tuesday of January\, March\, May\, September\, and October \nGenealogy Forum meetings are free and open to the public. \nFor more information\, call the library at 724-238-6451 or email paroom@ligonierlibrary.org

SUMMARY:Ghost Chat with the Greensburg Ghost Society
DESCRIPTION:Join the Greensburg Ghost Society on October 18 from 2–3 PM for Ghost Chat—a laid-back\, lively\, and slightly spooky session where we talk all things paranormal. No stiff lectures here—just real talk about what we do\, why we do it\, and the weird\, wild stuff we’ve encountered along the way. \nWe’ll show off some of our favorite ghost-hunting gear and spine-tingling evidence we’ve captured over the years (everyone loves that part). You can ask questions\, share your own ghost stories\, or just sit back and soak in the vibes. \nWhether you’re a full-on believer\, a curious skeptic\, or just here for the fun—we promise an hour of spirited conversation\, laughs\, and maybe a chill or two. \nCome for the ghosts. Stay for the stories.
