What is an Agamograph\, and how do you make one? How do you make a homemade Kaleidoscope? The answers to these and many other questions can be found with your child during the Family STEM Adventures at the Ligonier Valley Library. Families can explore these topics and many more- such as how to make a musical instrument out of wax paper and a comb\, and how to make and use invisible ink! \nFamilies can drop in\, try activities at their own pace\, and return each month to explore something new. Each session offers an opportunity to learn\, discover\, and have fun while exploring a variety of subjects. \nActivities are designed with homeschoolers in mind and provide an engaging way to learn\, experiment\, and connect with other families. Join us each month to explore something new! \nThis month’s session focuses on atmospheric science and the world of weather. The library is pleased to welcome special guest Austin Long\, a meteorologist from WJAC-TV\, who will help guide students through the science behind everyday weather phenomena. Participants will engage in several interactive experiments—including building a pinecone barometer\, creating a tornado in a jar\, and simulating rain and frost. To conclude the session\, students will craft their own wind chimes to take home.
