This experience highlights the heritage of several landmarks surrounding the town square. Incredible true stories that you will learn span from the era of the horse-drawn stagecoach\, the age of steam railroading and into the rise of the automobile. Guests will walk away learning about the people who continually molded The Diamond in parallel with the ever-changing direction of U.S. History. \nGuided Tours will be offered at 10 AM\, 12 PM & 2 PM. Tours are free to attend and begin outside the main entrance of the Library building. Tours are outdoors and circle The Diamond with the use of sidewalks and crosswalks. DESCRIPTION:The Opening Reception for this year’s Historic Photography Show\, “The Road to the Revolutionary War in Ligonier Valley\,” will be held from 4:00 – 6:45 on Tuesday\, June 23. Visitors will be able to view the exhibit\, talk with committee members and others about the Revolution\, and enjoy some snacks. \nBeginning at 5:30 Monty Murty will give a PowerPoint presentation\, “American Scripture – the Declaration of Independence.” His presentation will be filled with art of the period and give an account of the process of writing\, signing and publishing copies of the text. Mr. Murty takes his title from the title of Dr. Pauline Maier’s award winning book\, considered THE authoritative history of the process of making the Declaration.
