Join us as we take a trip through the Ukraine with guide Mark Sliwa on Wednesday, March 22 at 7:00 pm.
Ligonier resident, Mark Sliwa will give a lecture and slide show presentation of his travels through the Ukraine, featuring the Black Sea port of Odessa. His travelogue will also include slides from side trips to Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, a medieval fortress off the Dniester River where it empties into the Black Sea; Ai-Petri, a Tatar village atop cliffs on the Crimean coast; and Sighisoara, Transylvania (Romania), one the oldest preserved walled towns in Europe (and home of Vlad Tepes – or Vlad the Impaler – the model for Dracula).
Mark was born in California and has resided in the Ligonier Valley off and on since 1972. He has degrees in English literature and business. His interests include reading, photography, the outdoors and old motorcycles. He has taken motorcycle camping trips around the U.S., Canada and Europe.
